Emerging Markets Fund Closes On June 30
June 4, 2021 | Ashley Brindamour
A reminder that our Emerging Markets Fund closes to new investors at the end of June, or as soon as we reach 250 investors. The fund offers a portfolio of ~20-30 diverse deals from outside of major U.S. VC hubs — both in the U.S. and abroad. Investors who have already signed up have said they like the thesis of great regional diversification for their portfolio and potentially favorable valuation opportunities.
Since launching the fund, we have invested in seven companies and already offered one Syndication to investors. Below is a brief summary of those deals, including a new one just added to the portfolio.
Emerging Markets Fund Portfolio
Beam Dental (Ohio) is innovating dental insurance as the first and only digital dental provider. The company offers an easy-to-use, mobile-first digital platform that saves time and money for consumers, providers, employers, and brokers.
Kolors (Mexico) is using AI to help bus operators increase their load factor and revenue through data and technology.
Knix (Canada) has pioneered the use of patented bonding technology to create seamless, chafe-free designs for intimate clothing, as well as fabrics with built-in support structures to create the best wire-free bras and functional underwear in the world.
Lang.ai (Spain) is a fast-to-implement AI tool for support teams that automates time-consuming tasks like tagging, prioritizing, and routing.
Matchwell (North Carolina) provides a cloud-based job marketplace connecting healthcare workers seeking contract work to employers.
TripleBlind (Missouri) has created a safe, secure marketplace bringing together dataset holders with users who could derive insights from that data, helping companies wanting to develop ML algorithms and train on sensitive third-party data.
Plus Two Disclosed Deals
- We also recently added another investment to the EMF portfolio. This as-yet undisclosed company is offering businesses easy, fast credit through funding digital marketing campaigns.
- And we just concluded a Syndication for a deal in personal care for the Latin American market. Syndications* are a benefit that we offer fund investors, giving them an opportunity to invest more in a deal one of our funds has already committed to. You’re free to browse our diligence materials and determine if you want to opt in.
