Jennifer is the founder of a New York-based retail company and has more than 15 years of experience running brick and mortar stores, designing and maintaining e-commerce outlets, brand-building and marketing strategy. She is a frequent speaker at trade shows and regularly works with brands to vet new products and implement successful communication plans. Prior to building her own brand, she held editorial positions at various B-B and B-C media companies and worked as a tax law consultant for Ernst & Young. She holds a B.A. from Tufts University, a JD from Rutgers School of Law and earned a certificate from the Columbia Management Institute.
Bio: Patrick has over 10 years of financial risk management and data analytics experience within the financial services and nonprofit industries. Currently, he leads a team that is responsible for designing and implementing the future data environment, defining data governance and oversight, and partnering with technology to operate the data infrastructure at Wells Fargo. Patrick has substantial international experience in Africa and serves on the board of directors of a non-profit. Patrick has an MBA from Duke University, the Fuqua School of Business. Previously, he earned a MS in Information Science and a BS in Business.
Bio: Kenyatta is a strategy lead at VMware specializing in all corporate M&A, asset purchase and divesture integration activity. He brings over seven years of AdTech / SaaS experience leading national go-to-market development and client support operation launches in both the venture backed startup and Fortune 100 landscape. His goal in venture investing is to increase the amount of funding going to underrepresented founders while lowering the barriers of entry for minorities to enter the tech industry. Kenyatta received his Bachelor of Science at Fairleigh Dickinson University and Master of Business Administration with honors at Boston College Carroll School of Management.
Bio: Sharron Chang is a second year MBA candidate at NYU Stern School of Business. Prior to Stern, she was a government bond trader developing and executing trade strategies for Vanguard’s active fixed income mutual funds. Outside of trading, Sharron also evaluated and onboarded various fixed income trading technology and platforms. At Stern, Sharron is involved in the NYU Impact Investment Fund to identify high potential early-stage social enterprises in food and agriculture industry and Stern’s Endless Frontier Labs to help tech startups scale their businesses. Last summer, Sharron interned at PwC as a senior consultant.
Bio: Tendai is passionate about increasing access to capital for entrepreneurs in emerging markets and diversifying assets of African investors. She is currently pursuing a Neuroscience PhD at the University of Cambridge, studying the neural mechanisms of obesity. She is also a Fellow for Villedge Solutions, helping to develop tech-connected villages in Ethiopia in collaboration with government and private partners globally. Tendai graduated from Williams College, where she double majored in chemistry and biology.
Bio: Gia Farooqi has built an expertise in early stage start-ups as both a founder and operator. She has founded & built a mobility platform for emerging markets, secured $1mm in funding via the Hult Prize, and has been listed as a Forbes30under30 honoree in enterprise technology. Currently, she is working as the channel manager at Teampay where she is helping build the partner ecosystem within the spend management category. As an alumni of the Institute of Women’s Leadership at Rutgers University, Gia is passionate about creating opportunity for female founders across the MENA and APAC region.
Bio: Leland has a background in strategy consulting across multiple industries. In his current position as a generalist at L.E.K. Consulting, he conducts growth strategy and due diligence across industries including biotech, energy, healthcare, and transportation. While at Accenture, Leland focused on healthcare IT and assisted federal agencies with implementation of machine learning and robotic process automation solutions. He has a BA in biology and global development studies from the University of Virginia.
Bio: Bobby is currently a first-year MBA candidate at Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University with 5+ years of experience in Financial Services and Tech. Prior to Kellogg, Bobby was in finance at Google focused on product expansion and process improvement. Before Google, he worked on the Internal Consulting team focused on operational improvements at JPMorgan Chase & Co. He graduated from Morehouse College with a BA in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance.
Bio: Kori Hale is the CEO and Co-Founder of CultureBanx, a digital news platform redefining business and tech news for minorities through music. Prior to starting CultureBanx, Kori was part of the launch team for digital media millennial news company Cheddar, and she has the distinct privilege of being the first black woman to anchor a daily news show from the floor of the New York Stock Exchange. Kori’s passion for business news started with her role at UBS Investment Bank in London and continued when she returned to the states to work as an Investment Banker for Goldman Sachs.
Bio: Alejandro graduated in December 2020 from Syracuse University with a B.A. in Economics. Before joining Alumni Ventures, Alejandro interned at Cetera Financial Group and led the growth marketing deployed at Syracuse University for a tech startup. While at Syracuse, Alejandro helped establish an Association of Latino Professionals for America club to create an opportunity for underrepresented students to network with Fortune 1000 corporate companies.
Bio: Wesley is passionate about technology and healthcare. He currently works in investment banking, and served in the U.S. Navy for four years before attending college. In his spare time, he is actively involved with community service projects as a volunteer leader for The Mission Continues, a nonprofit that empowers veterans to continue their service, and empowers communities with impact. Wesley graduated from New York University’s Stern School of Business with a concentration in Finance.
Bio: Rob Licalzi is currently working in the Senior Relationship Management team at Barclays, focusing on the firm’s top clients across all products within Markets and Investment Banking. Previously, he worked in TMT investment banking at Barclays covering software, payments, and telecom clients. Prior to Barclays, Rob served 4 years in the United States Marine Corps as an infantry officer and currently serves on the NYU Military Veterans Alumni Committee. He graduated with an MBA from NYU Stern in 2015 and from Boston College in 2009 with a B.A. in political science and economics.
Bio: Jash is currently a second-year MBA candidate at New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business. He most recently worked as an Investment Banking Summer Associate, helping FinTech companies raise equity and perform mergers and acquisitions. He also serves on the board for Stern’s Private Equity & Venture Capital club and is passionate about growing the investment community at the school. Prior to Stern, he worked in the financial services industry and assisted in the issuances of commercial mortgage-backed securities and CLOs.
Bio: Malachi is a first-year MBA candidate and Consortium Fellow at UCLA Anderson School of Management. Prior to starting business school, Malachi primarily worked in Data Analytics and strategy. Most recently, Malachi worked on a Credit Risk Strategy team at American Express focusing on a portion of the commercial portfolio where he was responsible for most of the data and analytics. Before that, he worked at a healthcare marketing start-up where, in addition to his data analytics duties, he worked in a product management capacity taking ownership of the digital analytic solution’s processes, improvements and implementation. Malachi holds a B.S. from NYU Stern.
Bio: Gina currently leads growth product analytics for the P2P platform at Chime, the largest challenger bank in the US. Prior to joining Chime, Gina spent a couple of years at LinkedIn leveraging data and insights to grow the largest global accounts for the company. Before that, Gina worked at EY’s forensic advisory practice helping clients solve business problems and manage risks.
Bio: Michael is a senior patent analyst at an organization that contracts with the U.S. Federal government where he focuses on medical devices and health technologies. Michael concurrently serves on the board for human studies research at the University of Michigan, and has served on research boards at other leading academic medical centers where he specializes in clinical regulatory affairs and compliance. Additionally, Michael serves on the board of an international business accelerator based in Canada. Michael attended the University of Michigan and University of Oxford where he studied kinesiology, biomedical engineering, and clinical research.
Bio: Aneri is a climate & clean energy ecosystem builder and has spent her career at the intersection of entrepreneurship & clean energy through various incubators/accelerators/networks that she has either founded, governed, invested in, or worked at globally. Currently she manages Corporate Venture Capital partnerships at Elemental Excelerator – a climate tech growth accelerator based in the Pacific. She has over a decade of experience working in 15 countries throughout Africa and Asia on technology adoption, focusing on clean energy entrepreneurship and Fintech and serves on the Board of Directors of New Energy Nexus and the Dutch company Rural Spark. She has a Masters in Environment & Development from the London School of Economics and a BA in International Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Bio: Sheriff is a management consultant at Accenture LLP, prior to Accenture, he worked Deloitte and Touch LLP. At both firms, Sheriff worked as a strategy and operations consultant with clients in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), Pharmaceuticals, Higher Education and Defense sectors. He holds a dual bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics and Analytical Chemistry from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
Bio: Anna is a highly motivated and action-oriented professional with experience in consulting, IT management, and sales. Currently, Anna is a Sales Engineer at Cisco where she operates as a technical advisor, managing key customer relationships and translating technology into business value across enterprise accounts. Prior to joining Cisco, Anna worked as a Technical Operations Manager at Optiver, a high frequency trading firm, and as a Cybersecurity Consultant for PricewaterhouseCoopers, specializing in the Financial Services Industry. Outside of the office, Anna is a fitness junkie with a background in collegiate rowing, teaching yoga, and completing triathlons. She graduated from the University of Notre Dame with Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Sociology and Computer Applications.
